Q. What does the Congressional Fund do?
A. The Congressional Fund enables the school to
cover the costs of facility upgrades, program expansions
and the continued improvement of services for students
and families.
Q. Why can't these enhancements be done through the
operating budget?
A. Other areas of the operating budget would have
to be cut, or there would need to be an even greater
increase in tuition in order to fund these enhancements.
Q. Doesn't tuition cover these enhancements?
A. The tuition at Congressional covers 100% of
the cost of educating a child, however the tuition does
not cover additional enhancements to the school's programs
and facilities. These enhancements can only be undertaken
as a result of additional fundraising efforts.
Q. If I can only give a small gift, does it really
make an impact on Congressional?
A. Yes! Your gift, combined with those from other
alumni, parents, grandparents and friends of the school
provides substantial support for the enhancements to
our school. Regardless of the level of the gift, it is
an expression of concern and care for Congressional.
Every gift counts!
Q. Why does my participation matter?
A. Participation matters because many foundations
only fund schools that can demonstrate that they are
widely supported by their own parent, governing board
and alumni bases.
Q. How are Annual Giving funds raised?
A. The success of Annual Giving depends greatly
on the assistance of volunteers who help to write letters
and make phone calls on behalf of Congressional. Last
year with the help of volunteers, participation in the
Annual Giving fund reached an all time high.
Q. What period does Annual Giving cover?
A. The Annual Giving campaign begins on September
1 each year, and closes on August 31 of the following
year.
Q. I'd like to make a gift, but just can't do it right
now.
A. You may make a pledge to Annual Giving at any
time. Payment arrangements can be made to pay your gift
later in the year, or in easy monthly or quarterly payments.
Q. How do I make a gift?
A. Any number of ways, including check, Visa,
MasterCard, American Express, or a gift of securities.
Contact the Development Office for more information.
If you choose to pay by credit card, you may choose the
convenience of paying securely on line.
Q. If I make my Annual Giving gift early, will I
be solicited again within the same campaign year?
A. No! But you can expect to be thanked for your
gift!
Q. How can I help Congressional with the Annual Giving
fund?
A. You can make your gift today! You can also
volunteer to attend one of our phonathons, or to contact
a few classmates or fellow parents to encourage their
participation. Contact Missy Henriksen at (703) 533-9711,
ext. 318 for more information.
