The Congressional Fund
A Family of Annual
Funds
Tuition covers the basic costs of educating each Congressional student; however, it alone is not sufficient to cover the costs of facility upgrades, program expansions, and continued improved services for students and families. For this reason, we rely on annual gifts and other fundraising initiatives to meet our short term annual needs. Since Congressional does not receive any federal, state or local funding, your support ensures that our programs continue to grow and expand to meet the needs of our talented students.
Welcome to THE CONGRESSIONAL FUND. This Family of Annual Funds is structured to allow you to direct your donations to specific areas of the school, or to leave them unrestricted (area of greatest need) according to your preferences. The nine funds described below represent the most fundamental aspects of the schools’ programs.
Area of Greatest Need Fund
If your desire is to demonstrate your financial
support with a
generous unrestricted gift to the school, we will use it
in a
budgeted area where it is most needed, and we thank you for
your support and trust.
Renovation Fund
Maintaining a safe and healthy facility is fundamental
to affording our students a peaceful, secure environment
in which to learn and grow.
Performing Arts and Fine Arts Fund
Our goal is to inspire personal creativity and individual
expression through the fine arts and music as integral parts
of a complete education.
Athletics Fund
Health, well being, and attitude are central to
Congressional's physical education and athletics programs.
Our goal: to build a lifelong commitment to activity and
fitness.
Technology Fund
Integrating technology across the curriculum is a school-wide
priority along with maintaining up-to-date hardware and software.
Library Fund
Each building houses its own age-appropriate library with programs designed to
help students understand and enjoy the resources available to them in a library.
Dollars for Scholars Fund
The Congressional Schools of Virginia strives to
maintain a diverse student body which also encompasses varied
economic backgrounds, with aid available to academically
qualified students who demonstrate financial need beginning
with the 2005-2006 school year.
Professional Development Fund
Outstanding faculty is the
key ingredient in ensuring Congressional's academic and instructional
excellence.
This fund offers our faculty opportunities and financial support
for ongoing professional growth and development.
Head of School Discretionary Fund
This fund provides the Head of School the means to offer
financial support for events or opportunities not anticipated
in
the budgeting process.
The Congressional Fund Family of Annual Funds supports
The Congressional Schools of Virginia operating budget.
In the event of over-funding in one or more programs, the
Board of Regents reserves the right to re-allocate contributions
as needed.
