Annual Activities

Cooking for Bailey's Shelter: Once a month for the entire school year, eighth graders prepare casseroles, tossed salad, and dessert and serve the meal at Bailey's Shelter.

Tutoring Center: On Mondays throughout the entire school year, students in grades 6-8 volunteer to help children in the Willston Apartment Complex with their homework.

Recycling: Throughout the school, student recycle paper, and eighth graders collect and ready it for delivery to the recycling center.

Buddy Classes: From preschool through eighth grade, each class is paired with a buddy class. Activities range from second graders helping kindergarteners cut out figures to eighth graders sharing the reading of a novel with third graders.

Performance: Congressional students entertain residents at area nursing homes with their musical talent at the holidays and in the spring and with their creative costumes at Halloween.

Walk-a-Thon: In November, students walk a course around campus to benefit Homestretch, a local organization that helps the homeless.

Gardening: Lower School students help plant bulbs in the fall and spring flowers in the Founder's Garden.

Toiletry Drive for Bailey's Shelter: Every year at holiday time, Lower School students collect toiletries to pack and wrap in shoe box gifts for the shelter.

Adopt a Family Program: At holiday time, Middle School homerooms adopt needy families provided by the Center for Multicultural Human Services, purchase requested items for the members, and deliver them to the center.
