Pitch a tent, get messy in arts and crafts, take aim at the archery range, harness up at the climbing wall, lead a pony through an obstacle course- take full advantage of our 40-acre campus as you participate in a variety of activities! We offer a wide range of age-appropriate activities within a schedule that is carefully planned to incorporate themed days, special events and a balance of indoor and outdoor activities. This dynamic program will allow you to develop your talents, grow in new directions and build your self confidence. Congressional Camp also offers a variety of travel, specialty, and athletic programs.
The Great Adventures campers’ (ages 3 to rising kindergarteners) program provides the best of a classroom-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood environment combined with all of the fun and exciting activities of summer camp. A weekly theme guides indoor and outdoor experiences, and they have included Welcome to the Jungle, It’s the Wild, Wild West, Blast Off to Outer Space and Olympics. Great Adventures to Senior Divisions Camp Groupings
Campers are divided into five divisions based on age and grade. Each division is then broken down into smaller, coed groups of similarly-aged campers. In addition to the traditional activities described earlier, each division is geared to meet the unique and special needs of its age group.
Each summer, the groups are named based on a theme that is chosen by the staff during orientation. One past summer’s theme was Pirates, and our group names included the Arrrgs!, Swashbucklers and Buccaneers. What will your group’s name be this summer? Come find out!
1. Great Adventurers campers are three to five years old or attending preschool through kindergarten.
2. Primaries are rising first and second graders.
3. Freshmen are rising third and fourth graders.
4. Sophomores are rising fifth and sixth graders.
5. Seniors are rising seventh to ninth graders.
The rising ninth grade campers will have the opportunity to be Counselors-In-Training (CITs). They will participate in a leadership workshop once a week and work with groups in the Primary and Freshmen divisions for part of the day, twice a week.
“Our favorite part of the summer was… that the children came home very excited and exhausted! Keep up the great work!” -Pany Nazari
“My favorite special event was… the Teddy Bear Picnic because I got to bring in Abigail (my teddy bear).”
"The kids not only love it but the reason they love it is because so much care and planning has been invested to ensure that their time is well spent having fun! Amazing and energetic staff!"
"Our daughter had a great time! She really enjoyed her counselors, spending time with her old friends and meeting new friends."
