Congressional Students Draw Highest Honors at
WordMasters Challenge

Congressional sixth, seventh and eighth graders distinguished themselves at the first meet of the latest WordMasters Challenge, held this past December.

Not only did Congressional eighth graders tie for sixth place in the country among 297 school teams in the same grade level and division, but Zein Aburish, Nikhil Bhattasali and Isabella Brahm all notched perfect scores (only 69 eighth graders did this in the nation).

The national competition "addresses higher-level word-comprehension and logical abilities and helps students learn to think both analytically and metaphorically," according to WordMasters Challenge, a New Jersey-based company that administers the challenge.  Other Congressional students scoring high honors include sixth grader Alex Hoganson, seventh graders Sinta Taylor and Anne Lowry, and eighth graders Diane Arnos, Nicholas Proano, Rohan Rana, Robert Roth, Alice Yuen, Alexandra Zytek, and Megan Reilly.  Read the WordMasters press release by clicking here.
