Financial Aid Program

The Congressional Schools of Virginia offers financial assistance for children enrolled in Senior Kindergarten through 8th grade for families that qualify for assistance beyond the grant given to each child who attends the school (tuition alone does not cover the full cost of educating each child). This is a confidential process.
Congressional utilizes a program administered by School and Student Service (SSS) in Princeton, NJ (sss.nais.org; our school code is 4267) to assist us in evaluating the appropriate level of financial assistance that may be awarded. If you would like to apply for financial assistance for the 2010-2011 school year, please contact Bill Owens, Director of Business Operations, at 703-533-9711, ext. 308, or by e-mail at bowens@csov.org to request information on the process. A brief description of the process is outlined below.
Application Process
To begin the confidential process, you will complete the SSS application and submit it to SSS as soon as possible, either on paper or online. SSS will process the information and send their report directly to Congressional. You do not need to submit a copy of the SSS application to Congressional, but you may request a copy of the SSS results during the application process.
You will need to send to Congressional copies of your 2009 Federal Income Tax return and copies of Form W-2 (Wage and Tax Statement). These need to be submitted no later than the last day of February for first round consideration. Our small financial aid committee will review all requests for financial assistance. We will endeavor to meet the needs of families as best we can, while keeping tuition pricing below comparable schools. Applicants who meet the first round deadline will be notified of the financial assistance committee’s decision in mid-March. Subsequent committee meetings will address ongoing applications.
Thank you for your interest in Congressional and we look forward each year to serving all of our children as best we can.
